Thank you! Everything that is today is a product of yesterday. I think the victim-centric mentality of this administration is not consistent -- it criticizes the victim mentality while epitomizing the same. The US is not a victim. It's a strong country that has built a strong world and that leadership is important to keep in mind. It also has its structural flaws, and those are the result of self interests, but it doesn't not have to continue in the same way. It's about recognizing what is, why, and what could be, that makes the future better.

Agreed, nothing's ever as black or white as its made out to be. There's this assumption in politics that things need to be dumbed down as much as possible to make things palatable to the general public, leading to simplistic "blame points" like immigration, other countries etc.

Articles like this one help so much by bringing in the nuance that's much required. The way you explained how much of the tariff tax imposed on a country might be balanced out by the decreased value of the country's currency as a consequence of the tariff was something I'd never thought of, definitely one of those "aha" moments for me.
